Folks “My Age” ROCK To A “SHARP 9″ Happy Hour!
My happy hour crowd has been so good to us since we have opened. Every weekday is nice, but Fridays really burn here, thanks to you guys. I am always full on Fridays, so booking some performer to market Happy Hour would be silly. We already crank here! But we did want to show our appreciation.
After extensive negotiation I was able to land an evening with the “SHARP 9″ band. What a wonderful decision this was! “SHARP 9″ is, as the name implies, a nine-piece show-band that specializes in music from the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s. Obviously, doing what I do, I have booked many live bands over the years. But none as talented as this newly assembled group of performers. Anyone who has been involved in the music world, especially when interfacing with quality, high-end talent like this must expect a small degree of, shall we say politely, “self confidence” emitting from the performers. True professional musicians are a rare breed, and sometimes during business interations can cause the bursting of a tiny blood vessel just behind your eye. Katherine, my thirteen year old Pianist, and Violinist is no exception. So at home, and in business I am used to that component of music. “SHARP 9″ however, did strive to play their hearts out, while minimizing the attitude so familiar to talent of their level. They were very succesful at doing so!
The litany of compliments I received all night long was unprecedented, and I have had many, many bands here. The 40 and over crowd “out-rocked” the kids who invaded much later that night! This band has some SERIOUS heat! I am proud to have had them play here, as in the near future trust me, you will be on a six-month waiting list just to talk to them.
They will be back (I hope) regularly. I will be sure to have Caviar in the private changing rooms, and gold stars on their door when they return. They are worth it.
Check out the pictures in the bands section of our scrapbook!
Thanks for tearing the house up with us folks, it was a blast!
